Documents Required for Bike Rental in Rishikesh

- Aadhar Card
- Voter I.D
Driving License’s Photo Copy, Original Aadhar Card, or Voter Id Card till returns Bike/Scooters is required at the time of renting the bike. It is also mandatory for the customer to produce their Driving License in front of the vendor at the pickup point. The vendor would require a photocopy of the Driving License for their records and reference.
Security Amount:
The tourists have to pay a nominal security deposit at the time of booking, the charges may vary depending on the type of Bike, condition, and vendor. This security deposit is a refundable amount secured by the rental facility owner till the return of the vehicle safely at the drop points. The security deposit is refunded once the vendors confirm that the bike is in good condition, the same as it was before it was rented. In case there is any damage to the bike, the repair amount is deducted from the security deposit. Users also have the option of getting it repaired on their own before returning it.

- The second helmet (if required) will be charged on per day basis.
- Fuel is not included in the rental amount. The fuel tank of the bike is filled with that sufficient fuel so that you can start the bike and reach the nearest petrol station.
- Security Deposit is not included in the above cost. There is a varying security deposit for renting a bike depending on the location and type of bike. The security deposit depends on the policy of the Bike Rental operator.

Things to Know Before Renting a Bike in Rishikesh
- Bike rental service is available between 8 am to 8 pm.
- The bike can be picked up and dropped off at designated points only.
- Bikes can be picked up anytime after 8 am and shall be dropped off by 8 pm. If you are unable to drop the bike off by 8 pm, it must be dropped off by 8 am the next day, failing to do so will levy the full rental charges for an extra day.
- A security deposit of Rs. 3000 would be charged for each bike in Rishikesh (refundable). Along with this, you need to provide your PAN/ Aadhar/ Passport in original which will be held by the bike rental provider until the bike is returned.
- Inspect the bike properly before making the payment.
- Do test the condition of the bike at priority at the time of renting, to avoid any confusion with the vendor later.
- Ensure that every part of the vehicle, including the tires, brakes, engine, lights, etc., is in its best condition.
- Make sure the rental company you hire the bike from provides you with copies of proof of insurance, a registration card, and a Pollution Under Control Certificate.
- The bike rental providers also have different Cancellation Policies, if tourist happens to change their minds due to various reasons. The Cancellation charges are usually calculated based on the number of days ahead of the booking.
- Read the rental agreement carefully and note any existing damages mentioned in the agreement to avoid liability for any existing damages. Never drink and drive. Always follow traffic rules.
