Your adventure begins at 7:00 AM from Rishikesh, a well-connected city with convenient travel options from Delhi, including overnight buses and trains. As we drive through the Himalayan landscapes, we pass Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge to form the sacred Ganges. The scenic route takes us through several other confluences (Prayags), offering stunning views of Uttarakhand’s mountain valleys. By evening, we arrive at Joshimath/Govindghat, where you can relax at the hotel and take in the breathtaking vistas of the Garhwal Himalayas. Dinner will be provided at the hotel.
After an early breakfast, we take a short 4 km drive to Poolna, the starting point of our trek. The trail to Ghangaria is a gentle ascent, passing through lush forests, gushing rivers, and serene landscapes. We take a break for a midday lunch before continuing the trek. Upon arrival in Ghangaria, we check in at the hotel, where you can unwind with evening tea and snacks. The day ends with a warm dinner and a good night’s rest.
Today, we embark on a breathtaking journey into the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After breakfast, we set out on a scenic trek through the valley, where vibrant alpine flowers bloom in a mesmerizing display of colors. The pristine beauty of the meadows, combined with the crisp mountain air, creates an unforgettable experience. After exploring and capturing the stunning landscapes, we enjoy our packed lunch before trekking back to Ghangaria. The day concludes with a relaxing dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, we begin our ascent to Hemkund Sahib, one of the highest Sikh pilgrimage sites. The trail, though moderately challenging, rewards trekkers with breathtaking views of waterfalls, glaciers, and snow-capped peaks. The serene Hemkund Lake adds to the spiritual aura of the Gurudwara. Despite the high altitude, the site remains impeccably clean, a testament to the dedication of Sikh pilgrims. After exploring the sacred site and visiting the Lokpal Temple, we descend to Ghangaria before 2:00 PM due to changing weather conditions. The evening is reserved for snacks, an early dinner, and much-needed rest.
Following breakfast, we begin our descent from Ghangaria to Govindghat, a relatively easier trek covering 10 km in about four hours. Upon arrival, we drive to Joshimath and check into the hotel. A delicious hot lunch awaits, followed by an evening of relaxation. Enjoy a warm dinner before settling in for the night.
After breakfast, we drive back to Rishikesh, retracing the picturesque route through the Himalayas. We aim to reach Rishikesh by 08:00 PM, allowing travelers ample time to plan their onward journey.
